Design consultations

In the 10+ years I’ve been working on the web, I’ve dabbled with offering various short form one-to-one services to help people with their websites.
I’ve always felt the most enjoyable and impactful version of this is an hour-long video call where we can work through a design problem together.
I like this format because:
- The real-time nature lets me get more context and helps us tease at any underlying issues
- Pairing on a problem opens up the thinking in how we might solve an issue, and the process can be more valuable than the outcome
- Delivering feedback in-person reduces the chance of it being misconstrued
- A one-off call lets people access my skills and experience without committing to a big project
I haven’t formally offered consultations for a few years, but in recent times I’ve had several designers and developers ask me for design advice/feedback on projects they’re working on.
With that in mind, I’ve decided to open up some availability in my schedule to offer regular time for design guidance.
There’s more information over on my studio site. Like Unoffice Hours, I’m hoping these will become a regular part of my work week.
